WE are excited to invite you this coming Sunday to our biggest and most popular event of the year, our annual family dog show.

Every type of dog is welcome, especially rescue dogs, but they must be kept on their leads at all times and must be muzzled if on the restricted breed list. We have been running this popular and fun event for many years now and it is always well attended.

We are very grateful to the management of Punchestown Racecourse for allowing us to use this fantastic premises. If you ever wondered how your dog might perform if he or she ever made it to Crufts then perhaps this is your opportunity.

We have lots of different competition classes for the dogs so there will always be one to suit every attending dog and owner. Children in particular love the event as all types of dogs, big and small, will be on show.

Just make your way to the Parade Ring at Punchestown Racecourse - both admittance and parking are free. Dog registration is from 1pm and the show starts at 2pm. Light refreshments will be available, there will be a stall selling pet products and a 'Teddy Adoption' stall.

Our charity shop ‘Noah's Ark’ will set out some stock for sale on the day and there will be a chance to win a luxury hamper in the Dog Show Raffle.

Our volunteers will be on the ground to give information on the current KWWSPCA rescue dogs and cats available for adoption, how to become a KWWSPCA volunteer or how to get involved in the KWWSPCA fostering program.

We hope to have some of our currently available dogs attend the event and we will share details of the KWWSPCA's plans for its new Shelter.

There is a charge of €5 to enter your dog in a competition class but you can buy entry for 5, classes for just €20. Dogs under 6 months of age can only be entered into the Puppy Class.

The various classes are as follows : Child under 12 with their Dog; Small Rescue Dog; Large Rescue Dog; Senior Citizen with their Dog; Fanciest Female Dog; Handsomest Male Dog; Puppy Class; Waggiest Tail; Veteran Dog (9 years and over); Fancy Dress (Dog and Owner); The Dog You Would Most Like to Take Home; KWWSPCA Rescue Dog; Dog Most Like its Owner; Child under 16 with their Dog; Open Class (for any dog that has not won first, second or third place in any previous classes); Best in Show (The Winner of Each Class is Automatically Entered).
