Kildare animal charity needs to help to find new home
The bazaar is great fundraiser for the KWWSPCA
The KWWSPCA is urgently looking for a premises to rent for its animal shelter. Although we have had 10 good years at our current rented premises and enjoyed a very good relationship with our landlord throughout that time, we were recently served with a ‘notice to quit’ by February 2025 as the property is to be sold.
We had been hoping this day would not come and that we could enjoy continued use of these premises until such time as our proposed new shelter is ready but unfortunately, it seems this is not to be.
However, we will not be deterred from continuing our important work, so for the past two months we have been actively seeking an alternative home to rent for the interim period. So far nothing suitable has been found and we are now reaching out to the public.
We are looking for a short-term lease of a year with the possibility of an extension if our own new premises are not ready.
We will consider stables, kennels, industrial units, large barns/farm buildings as possible sites. The premises would have to be in the Kildare/West Wicklow area. If you think you can help, we can be contacted by email at kwwspca@gmail.com or by calling 085 2354939.
In the meantime, this weekend sees our next fundraising event with an Autumn Bazaar taking place on Sunday 20 October from 12 noon to 3pm. We have a change of venue this time as Newbridge Rugby Club has kindly allowed us to use its grounds at Rosetown, Athgarvan (Eircode W12 Y279). We are very grateful to the club and, even if the weather is unkind to us again, at least we can go ahead with the Bazaar this time.
There will be stalls selling a wide variety of items including cakes, household goods, bric a brac, small items of furniture, pictures, mirrors, clothes and accessories, books, products for your pets and much more. There will be a children’s activity area with face painting. Light refreshments will be available and plenty of room for free parking. We would prefer people not to bring their dogs, but if they do, then they must be kept on their leads.
