WE look forward to attending the ‘PAWmerstown at the Manor’ event this Saturday 6 June where we hope to meet some of our past rescue dogs and make new friends too.

A group of our volunteers will be on hand to discuss the work of our charity and hopefully answer any questions you might have.

We are mainly preoccupied though with running a fun dog show which is open to every type of dog — in accordance with any restrictions of the event organisers — which is sure to be entertaining.

We’ve seen many owners in the past parade their dogs proudly while all the time imagining strutting around the Crufts Show Ring.

The dogs however are mainly interested in quite literally sniffing out the competition. We will have eight different show classes to choose from, culminating in the Best of Show Category where the eight class winners’ parade one more time to choose an overall winner.

The ‘Waggiest Tail’ Class is always popular along with ‘Child under 12 with Dog’ but there is a class to suit every dog, big or small, loud or quiet. There is even a fancy-dress class with hopefully both dog and owner getting kitted out.

There is a small separate fee for entry to our Dog Show Competitions, as this is a fundraiser to support the animals in the care of KWWSPCA.

We will hold one competition at noon for the morning session and a second one at 3pm for the afternoon session. Details and admission prices for the ‘PAWmerstown at the Manor’ event can be found on the following website www.followfoxevents.ie/pawmerstown.

Phil is a small, three-year-old, male Patterdale Cross who’s full of personality.

He is a lively guy with loads of energy and loves heading off for his walks.

Phil’s idea of going for a walk however could mean him escaping from a garden unless it is very secure.

He may have been used for hunting in a past life as this seems to interest him greatly. Completely friendly, Phil likes other dogs and other humans and loves a bit of attention.

He has not had a whole lot of house training in the past, so his new owner has a bit of work to do.

He is best suited to an active home, without cats, where he will not be left alone too much. Phil has been neutered, is microchipped 972274200687895, has been vaccinated and has received the usual preventative flea/worm treatments.
