Kildare land sells for €50k an acre after frenzied bidding

Five acres of Co Kildare land sold for nearly three times the guide price following frenzied bidding on Friday.
The five acres of land at Killeen, Maganey were sold at an online auction yesterday by Jordan Auctioneers for €252,000.
The guide price on the property was €90,000.
There were around half a dozen bidders on the land during the 40-minute auction. However, when bidding reached €160,000, there were just two interested parties left. The price quickly ratcheted up to the final figure of €252,000.
The property is zoned and has previous planning permission for 20 houses while enjoying extensive road frontage.
