Kildare Rescue Tails: Pet service raises shelter funds

A WONDERFUL afternoon was had by all at the annual ecumenical pet blessing service, which took place in Christ Church in Celbridge on Saturday 10 October.

Currently in its 11th year, the service was well attended by a colourful and diverse congregation that included dogs of all shapes and sizes alongside their families and even a couple of guinea pigs.

Attendees gave very generously to the collection on the day, which was donated to the KWWSPCA, for which we are hugely grateful. Some of our current and past shelter dogs enjoyed the outing and were on their best behaviour in church, including our adorable and very attentive boxer cross, Jess, whose details can be found on the ’Adopt-a-dog section of our website.

The KWWSPCA would like to thank the Reverend Stephen Neill of Christ Church for organising and giving this very special service, Fr Peter of St Patrick’s church for assisting in the service and also the team at the church who looked after the logistics, refreshments and music on this very enjoyable day.

Fundraising is an essential ongoing activity for our society, and we are very thankful to the community for continuously showing up to support us.

This weekend offers another opportunity to join and support us at the KWWSPCA biannual Fashion pop-up shop and Autumn Fair, which takes place in Newbridge Town Hall, Main Street, Newbridge on Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October from 11am – 4pm. There are always great bargains and a few fabulous designer pieces to be found at this very popular event, so you are advised to arrive early!

Along with clothing & accessories, there will be books, bric-a-brac, pet accessories, refreshments and lots more so come and join us if you can.
