Kildare Rescue Tails: affectionate Dexter loves company

Dexter

WE begin this week with great news that Cavana, who we featured in last week’s column, has safely delivered her litter of kittens while in foster care.

The little family is doing well and will be advertised for new homes when weaned.

Dexter is a ONE-year-old black and tan male lurcher currently looking for a home. He is a very popular boy at the shelter and loves to go for his walks.

He is very affectionate and loves human company, but he is equally happy in his own company.

He is not suited to a home with cats owing to his breed and a successful meet and greet is essential if he is to share his new home with another dog. Dexter has been neutered, vaccinated and is microchipped 972274200687922.

He is pictured here at our shelter waiting ‘patiently’ for his breakfast. More photos and how to submit an application for him can be seen on his website listing www.kwwspca.ie/adopt-a-dog/Dexter.

We are happy to say that the KWWSPCA will take part in the annual Newbridge St Patrick’s Day parade next week.

A fun event, some of our volunteers will parade past rescue dogs, their own dogs or some of our current rescues. We hope for good weather and a big turnout.

Our fundraising will begin in earnest next month with three events already pencilled in.

Good Friday will see our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Dog Walk at Punchestown Racecourse.

We have a second-hand book sale planned for Kilcullen Town Hall on 24 & 25 April which will be quickly followed on Sunday 26 April with our participation at the Walking Sunday Punchestown event in advance of the main racing festival.

We will give more details here closer to each event date.

As ever, we extend our thanks for the great local support we continuously receive.

The KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com.

All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
