Kildare Rescue Tails: Eric donates birthday money to charity

Eric with dog Kane

AT long last Reggie has found his forever home! He had spent the best part of 3 years in animal shelters even though he’s only five years old.

Reggie was even a poster boy for the ISPCA’s annual calendar this year but he still got constantly overlooked.

Indeed, he was featured in this very column several times.

Naturally enough our volunteers felt extra sorry for him which resulted in many more treats than necessary!

We couldn’t comprehend why it was so difficult for him to find a home but then it seems to be common that there always seems to be that one dog who spends way too long at the shelter.

Thankfully, he finally is getting to enjoy a normal home and won’t know himself this year when he gets to spend the winter nights in a warm home instead of a dog shelter.

We wish to thank the parents, staff and pupils of Newbridge Educate Together National School for organising a Halloween-themed fundraising event which raised very welcome funds for the animals in the care of KWWSPCA and of course increased our profile in the Community.

Thanks also to the wonderful Eric who donated his birthday money to us to provide for our animals. Such a thoughtful gesture which was heavily influenced by his older brother, Oscar, who has done the same previously. We think we might have some future volunteers from this family.

We currently have a number of kittens who will soon be ready for new homes. Please check our website www.kwwspca.ie by going to the “Cats for Adoption” Section and then selecting the first listing titled “Adorable kitten season is here”. Details on how to book a kitten are listed there along with images of some of the kittens, most of whom are in foster homes.
