Kildare Rescue Tails: Grace raises €5,000 for shelter fund

Grace who fundraised for the KWWSPCA and Mylo a rescue dog

This week we congratulate and thank one of our shelter volunteers, Grace O’Shaughnessy, for raising an astonishing €5,000 for our new shelter fund. Grace did this through the very generous sponsorship of her many friends, family and co-volunteers for her ultramarathon which she completed in Galway this month.

Grace ran an amazing 82km in 12 hours, some of which was in darkness, which is no mean feat!

Her preparation for this event included running the Dublin City Marathon last month, which in itself is so impressive. An absolute dog fanatic, Grace was totally committed to her challenge and left us all truly impressed with her achievement. Some of our shelter dogs sent her good wishes on the day via a recorded video and during the race she even managed to make friends with dogs she met on the route.

Thank you Grace from all at KWWSPCA, we are so proud of you. This weekend we continue our fundraising efforts to support the daily running of our charity with what has now become an annual Newbridge Event.

Our Christmas Craft Fair will be held at Newbridge Town Hall, Main Street on Sunday 1 December from 12pm to 5pm. This is a great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done while all the time supporting local businesses and the KWWSPCA. Admission is free, music will aid the festive atmosphere and there will be light refreshments available for purchase too. We hope to see you there.

KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com. All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
