Kildare Rescue Tails: Happy end of year for Tony

Tony found a home

The KWWSPCA has had a very successful 2024 with more than 300 dogs/puppies homed and more than 350 cats/kittens.

Other animals have benefitted from community schemes that we operate and every animal that came into our care has received appropriate veterinary attention.

All this work has been carried out by a very dedicated team of volunteers with absolutely no paid employees whatsoever. The charity relies on the generosity of the public, an annual government grant and its charity shop called Noah’s Ark located in the centre of Newbridge to finance the operation.

The KWWSPCA is very grateful for all the ongoing support received and now as we enter 2025, we look forward to all it will bring.

We are always in need of volunteers for our dog section, our cat section, our foster homes network and our charity shop, Noah’s Ark.

Please read the 'Get Involved' section on our website kwwspca.ie to see what it entails as we really need volunteers who can commit to a definite set of weekly hours. We promise a very rewarding and enjoyable experience if the commitment is there.

One of the happiest events of 2024 for our volunteers was when our collie, Tony, finally found his forever home. A lovely and very special boy who was uncomfortable in urban surroundings and also found our shelter quite challenging, waited a long time with us for the right home to come along.

He had become resident in our shelter kitchen rather than living in our kennels with the other dogs and he thrived on one-to-one attention. Tony is now living the quiet rural life he so desired, has a fireplace of his very own to rest by and happily shares his home with just one very special person, to whom we are all very grateful. Who doesn’t love a happy ending? This one was one of the very best. KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com. All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
