Kildare Rescue Tails: Life a big adventure for Phil
If there’s fun to be had then Phil wants a piece of the action!
THIS week we are hoping to find a home for Phil, a three-year-old Patterdale cross who is by far the biggest character currently residing at our shelter in Athgarvan.
It’s hard for volunteers to say Phil’s name without smiling because he really is a lot of fun. Playful, affectionate and full of energy, Phil approaches life as one big adventure.
Whether it’s a game of fetch, a splash in the doggy paddling pool or a ramble through the fields and lanes, if there’s fun to be had then Phil wants a piece of the action!
He would definitely be suited to a home with owners who can provide him with plenty of daily exercise and stimulation.
Once he has that, he is very content to relax and chill out in his outdoor run – at least for a little while any way.
His curiosity for what’s on the other side of the fence can occasionally get the better of Phil so a secure garden is a must for any potential future home.
It's hard to believe that this happy little dog originally came into us with a horrendous facial injury underneath his lower jaw, possibly acquired through hunting as we suspect he may have been used for this in his previous life.
Thankfully this hasn’t affected Phil’s joy of life or his love for humans. We believe he would be best suited to an active home, without cats, where he will be an only dog and where someone will be there most of the time.
If you are interested in welcoming this friendly little fella into your home, please visit the ‘Adopt a Dog’ section of our website, where you can read his full profile and complete an ‘expression of interest’ form.
A reminder that Kitten season is in full swing and our Kitty Cottage needs foster families who live in the locality that can raise kittens to 10 weeks of age, especially bottle feeders. If you are interested in fostering a kitten, please text FOSTER to 089 458 8162.
There are some beautiful kittens already available for adoption from our Kitty Cottage. Please visit our webpage for further information: www.kwwspca.ie/adopt-a-cat/kittens/.
