Kildare Rescue Tails: Stevie needs safe & quiet home

Stevie
Our featured dog this week is Stevie, a very special five-year-old Collie who is visually impaired.
He can be easily spooked by a large noise or a sudden movement near him so we are looking for a home without any other pets and definitely without children.
It must also be a rural home as urban noise, traffic, and proximity to a motorway or railway line will not suit him. He just needs a quiet home where he won’t be disturbed much and will feel safe.
That said, Stevie is a very friendly boy who likes close contact with humans. He is comfortable with being cuddled, brushed or receiving a little scratch behind his ears.
He is house-trained and crate-trained at night and likes to eat his food in his crate. He has a particular fondness for peanut butter.
While in foster care, Stevie was comfortable in a large crate where he could walk around feeling the sides, which made him feel secure.
If he’s not in a crate, he will find a solid wall or the side of a couch and rest up against it.
Sometimes he will sleep in a bed but mostly he’s happy to lie on the floor. At our shelter, he is very happy to be brought on walks on a lead, feeling safe once his human is nearby.
This lovely boy is most deserving of a new start in life. Stevie has been neutered, is microchipped 972274200531511 and has been vaccinated.
If you have an interest in either adopting or fostering Stevie for his lifetime, please check out his listing on our website where an application form can be completed online.
We once again thank our supporters for attending our various fundraising events, donating items for sale in our shop ‘Noah’s Ark’ or purchasing items in the shop or online, delivering dog and cat supplies to our shelter and of course generously financially supporting us always. We can’t do our work without you!
