Shadow loves her naps and relishes company
SHADOW is a three-year-old female Boxer Cross who recently delivered a fine set of puppies and has been an amazing mother to them. The puppies have all been homed and it’s now time for Shadow to find a forever home of her own.
She has been living in a foster home since Christmas, where she is thriving in every way.
Shadow is a quiet girl who loves her naps and relishes company. In fact, her name suits her well as she tends to follow people around like a shadow. Slightly anxious at the moment from all the recent changes in her life, Shadow is a very well-behaved girl and happy to engage with people. We think any children in her future home should probably be ten-plus years of age.
Shadow is easy to walk on her lead but will refuse to go for a walk if it’s raining! She has ignored any cats she has seen when on her walks and is happily sharing her current foster home with a cat. She has shown interest, while remaining calm, with any dogs she has met on her walks and again is happily sharing her current foster home with two resident dogs.
Shadow responds well to training and has so far mastered the ‘sit’ command. She will require a home with a secure garden with reasonably high fencing. More photographs and adoption details can be found on our website kwwspca.ie.
Every now and then we get super-excited about an adoption and very recently it was for our black lurcher, Piper. Having spent almost a year to the day at the shelter, been the subject of many appeals and the face of our Christmas foster campaign, Piper was finally matched to a lovely new home.
We could see no good reason why he had been constantly overlooked and unfortunately the few applications he received were not an ideal match. We never gave up hope as we’ve been down this inexplicable path many times previously with other dogs but knew his time would eventually come.
We will miss this lovely guy around the place but are so happy for him and the prospect of living a normal life.
