Pumpkin finds a home

Happy New Year to all our supporters. We look forward to another successful year of animal rescue and rehoming.

Our first intake of abandoned pups and kittens has already happened and we’re sure there will be many more arriving to us in the near future. Unfortunately, this is a common annual occurrence after Christmas.

These babies are the lucky ones who will hopefully go on to live full and happy lives but there are many more who will be disgracefully abandoned and never to be found.

The KWWSPCA ceased homing dogs and cats over the Christmas period as it is felt that homes are too busy at that time to introduce a new animal to a household. Our dog section has now recommenced processing applications and our cat section will reopen on 11 January.

In the meantime, our volunteers have had a break from their normal duties but have been busy giving the shelter a good 'Spring' clean.

Pumpkin (pictured) is a very young lurcher puppy who was found recently with serious injuries and came into the care of the KWWSPCA when no owner was found. It emerged that two of his legs and his pelvis were broken.

Pumpkin received veterinary care financed by the KWWSPCA and was then placed in the care of one of our wonderful fosterers who nursed him through his recovery.

He has now been adopted by the person who first found him as that injured little puppy.

We are grateful to Pumpkin's fosterer and all our other great fosterers for the fantastic work they all do.

KWWSPCA is a registered charity no. CHY 6280 and can be contacted at kwwspca@gmail.com. All our details can be found at www.kwwspca.ie.
