Kildare rally is a fundraising success
A cavalcade of tractors lead the rally into Kilcullen.
UP to 270 vehicles were registered for the 24th Mac & Norman Rally that took place from Brannockstown through Kilcullen last week.
They included 128 tractors, many of them very old, 42 trucks, about 20 motorcycles, and 76 passenger cars of varying types and classic age.

As they passed through Kilcullen, locals waved and donated to collectors for the event's Irish Cancer Society charity. The cavalcade returned to the start at Mac Sully's yard in Cannycourt, where there was a cold lunch, followed by the usual charity auction.

The initiative was begun by the Sully and Egar families of Cannycourt, and the funds all go towards advice, services, research, and support for cancer patients and their families.

Prior to last week's outing, the Mac & Norman Rally event had raised an incredible €643,019.55 over the past 23 years.
It’s a huge achievement for each and every one of those who have supported the fundraiser.
The results of the recent event will be revealed at a presentation of the cheque in October.
The organisers are looking forward to the Silver Jubilee of the Rally next year, the date already set for 15 August 2027. They have expressed their thanks to the volunteers who help every year.
"No one has ever refused to help when we ask," they told the last week.
