Six Kildare nominees for planning awards

Gavin Lawlor, President of the Irish Planning Institute.
THE shortlist for the 2025 Planning Awards sees six Kildare developments listed amongst the 55 nominees across all 12 categories.
Kildare gets the nod in four categories: the plan for the low-carbon future plan for Maynooth, the re-imagining of the Naas Potato Market, its ‘Grey to Green’ climate change policy, and also for its own planning department.
Tom Phillips and Associates are also nominated for their Kildare Innovation Campus in Parsonstown, and the Church of Oak Distillery in Monasterevin.
The Irish Planning Institute (IPI), the all-island professional membership body for spatial planners, host the biennial awards “to recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the planning profession, including projects and plans at a local, county, regional and national level”.
“They aim to promote excellence in the field of planning, encourage sustainable development, foster positive engagement between communities and projects, support economic development through thoughtful planning,” said Gavin Lawlor, President of the IPI.
This year’s climate action award is sponsored by FuturEnergy Ireland.
The 2025 awards will be presented at a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony in Clontarf Castle Hotel on Thursday 25 September.
