Emergency services in Athy have paused search efforts on Sunday evening following a report earlier that an individual entered the River Barrow on Sunday morning.
Gardaí say search efforts will resume on Monday morning.
Gardaí along with Kildare fire service and the Civil Defence carried out a search of the Barrow today. The garda helicopter was also seen above the town.
At lunchtime, garda spokesperson said a search was underway following reports an individual entered the water shortly at 11am on Sunday.
