Budding Kildare artists can enter Texaco art competition

Texaco Art competition
The search to find the young artists who will excel in this year’s Texaco Children’s Art Competition has begun.
Last year six students from Co Kildare won top prizes in the Competition, which is now in its 71st year and widely acknowledged as the longest-running arts sponsorship in Ireland.
The closing date for entries is Friday 28 February. Judging will take place in March with winners to be announced in April.
Details are available at www.texacochildrensart.com or at Texaco service stations throughout the county.
The artworks by two Kildare students were chosen to illustrate the 2025 Texaco Children’s Art Competition Calendar, just published, and will be seen in thousands of homes throughout Ireland during the coming year.
‘Generations’, by 14-year-old Kildare student Lily Seery, from St Wolstan’s Community School, Celbridge, appeared during the month of March and ‘A Good Day’s Fishing’, by 16-year old Joseph Finn, from Salesian College, Celbridge, marked August.
Both were special merit award winners in this year’s 70th competition, their artworks were commended by the adjudication panel as ‘demonstrating high levels of skill and imagination’.
