THE Cross and Passion College Panto Club in Kilcullen presented Snow White story in the college Assembly Hall on 25-26 November. There was a cast of 80 in the TY year production Snow White and AT LEAST Seven Dwarfs, which has been rehearsing since September.

“There was such an interest in it when we left a signup sheet during our September workshops, that it has become a major project in the school,” says the Panto Club organiser, Mary McLaughlin. “The excitement and enthusiasm are wonderful to see.”

In addition to the cast, 17 other students, led by stage manager Jake King Brunell, worked backstage, and front-of-house activities on the performance nights will include even more.

Mary McLaughlin wrote the show, and in addition to Snow White and her normal cohort of fellow characters, she has brought in others such as Hook from Peter Pan, Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel. So there's a lot of intermixing of the originating fables. The students themselves seem to be making it work, anyhow, as our photos from a recent rehearsal show. "They're having a ball," Mary McLaughlin said.
