McAuley Place, Naas

A NOT-FOR-PROFIT housing association in Naas town, McAuley Place, has announced their 2025 banquet dinner fundraiser which will take place in Lawlor’s Hotel, Naas, on Saturday 11 October.

This event aims to raise funds for the much-needed expansion of McAuley Place. Today, there are 53 apartments which are currently full, with a substantial waiting list. The next stage in the development of McAuley Place involves an extension to the existing facility. The organisation have acquired the adjacent Beaufort site which, when completed, will provide an additional housing block of 43 units for older residents of the wider community.

This banquet dinner event will feature one of Ireland’s best known and well-loved broadcaster, Ray D’Arcy, as MC with live music by hi-energy band 52nd Street, fronted by The Piano Man (John Forde), a live auction and raffle with all proceeds going towards the Beaufort Project. Guests on the night can expect a Prosecco reception on arrival, followed by a delicious three-course meal and plenty of live entertainment.

Patricia Darling, chairperson of McAuley Place, said: “The proceeds from this significant fundraising event will support the new development at Beaufort which will be a huge addition to the town of Naas. When complete, the new complex will connect seamlessly with the existing site via the Woodland Garden.

“The expanded campus will continue to be a space where all in the community can connect, regardless of age, ability or disability, where arts and crafts will be used as tools for engagement and to enhance wellbeing, and where tourists will be able to engage with the living history of Naas while meeting members of our wonderful community.”

95% of the new Beaufort project is being funded by the Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) grant through Kildare Co. Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. The remaining 5 per cent will be raised by fundraising initiatives. Funding is urgently needed for this important project and all donations are welcomed.

The gala event starts at 7pm on 11 October. For tickets and more information, please contact reception in McAuley Place on 045 897833 or book online.
