Monasterevin Drama Group stage play next week
Monasterevin drama group rehearse their upcoming show, 'The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley'.
Monasterevin Community Centre and Monasterevin Drama Group will put on the play on January 23-25 at 8pm.
Written by Jim Keary and directed by Jim Ivers, the story follows Gabriel, a middle-aged, unlucky-in-love bachelor, living with his mother who is anxious to get him wed! He meets the high flyer Hazel and sets out to woo her. Little does Gabriel know, his kind-hearted neighbour Chrissie has long since developed a glad eye for him. What's a man to do?
The play has a cast of eight actors from the drama group, with two debut performances from new members. The group currently has a membership of almost 30 people, and are always welcoming new members. Check out their Facebook page for more details.
Tickets for the play are €15 and every purchase includes a raffle ticket for a draw on the nights of the play. Tickets can be purchased from Earley's Fashion Shop, Monasterevin, and a limited number of tickets will be on sale in the Monasterevin Parish Office following masses on the weekend of Jan 18 with kind permission from Fr Liam.
