What's on in Kildare for Culture Night
Guitarist Max Zaska brings his 6-piece band ZASKA to Monasterevin for his first home show
KILDARE County Council has announced a programme of almost 70 cultural events taking place across the county for Culture Night 2025 on Friday 19 September from 4pm till late.
The council’s Arts Service has provided grant support to a number of projects, across art forms and across the county, including live music, performance, poetry and even a public art bus tour!
Culture Night is an annual island-wide public event, a national moment that shines a light on all aspects of culture, creativity and the arts. All activities are free of charge and allow audiences the opportunity to celebrate and fully engage with a variety of cultural activities.
Each year, thousands of groups and individuals participate in Culture Night the length and breadth of Kildare. The full programme of events and participating venues for Culture Night Kildare 2025 will be available on www.culturenight.ie/kildare but below is a flavour of what to expect.
‘Would you like to live it, Love?’ is a reading that takes the audience through a day in the life of a Traveller woman in Co Kildare, which will be performed at Kildare Traveller Action on the Tully Road in Kildare Town between 4.30-5pm.
Guitarist Max Zaska brings his six-piece band to perform a high energy show featuring upbeat and danceable music from their forthcoming third studio album at the Woodstack Café in Monasterevin from 7-8.45pm.
‘Sing Up Speak Out’ Music School presents ‘Live in the Garden’, bringing together local singers, dancers, songwriters, poets, musicians and artists in the Kilcock Community Garden on Courtoun Road between 6.30-9pm.
, inspired by the iconic school poetry book, will intersperse poetry readings with personal reflections and performances of music from the 1960s to the late 1990s in the Athy Library from 8-9.30pm.
‘Departing from Naas’ with Rina Whyte, a public art specialist, will take you on a bus tour of public artworks in and around the county, departing Naas at 6pm and running until 8.15pm.
