Athy's Darkness Into Light walk raises almost €9K

ATHY raised an incredible €8,910 for Pieta House after this year’s Darkness Into Light walk Delighted with the news, Athy Town Promoters said: “What a powerful community we have — especially when it matters most.

Our heartfelt thanks go to every single person who took part in this year's Darkness Into Light Athy walk.

Whether you walked, ran, donated, sponsored, or did a little bit of everything — this message is for you. Your support, kindness, and commitment made a real difference.” Great thanks was extended to the Gardaí, Civil Defence, charity O.N.E, the Order of Malta, and Athy College for supporting the event every year.

Athy Town Promoters continued: “A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Athy Darkness Into Light ambassador, Jack L, who was beautifully accompanied by the wonderful Village Voices and Carrie Haskins. Your hard work behind the scenes helped create something truly special.

“And to our amazing outstanding committee who behind the scenes does Trojan work each year. When we come together, we can make a difference.” Funds raised at this year’s event will go towards providing free, lifesaving services for people affected by suicide, self-harm and suicidal distress.
