Brothers Argus & Odie

ARGUS and Odie are one-year-old brothers with the most strikingly beautiful eyes. Those beautiful eyes were full of fear when they first arrived into our care, undoubtedly stemming from their tough beginnings.

They are still learning to trust human beings and can be slow to approach new people, but once they feel comfortable, they enjoy and respond affectionately to the attention they receive.

With the support of volunteers and each other, Argus and Odie have made significant progress in a very short space of time, and their confidence continues to grow with each passing week.

They have progressed from being frightened of stepping outside of their run to waiting excitedly at the gate for their turn to walk each day, and they walk very well together on the lead.

These small lurchers are very content and secure in each other’s company, so it would be a wonderful outcome for them to be homed together, where they can continue to provide companionship and reassurance to each other.

They would certainly keep each other happy in a home where they needed to be left alone for a period of the day.

These precious siblings have already shown incredible resilience for their young age, which tells us that they could be homed separately in the right homes if we are unable to find them a home together.

They will need an experienced dog owner who is willing to give them the patience and understanding they need as they continue to learn that the world can be a safe and loving place.

Sudden movements and noises still trouble them so they will need lots of reassurance as they adapt. Any potential home will need to be free of cats and small children and should have a secure garden with high fencing.

If you are interested in welcoming Argus and /or Odie into your home, please visit the ‘Adopt a dog’ section of our website, where you can read their full profiles and complete an ‘Expression of Interest’ form.
