As part of the development, an existing prefab will be removed and replaced with a new tarmacadam play area.

“I’ve been in Athy all this time – no ambition,” laughed Richard 

The synthetic (5G) hockey pitch will replace the existing cinder arena, and will include three-metre high perimeter fencing, stop netting at both ends, and six new 18.3m (60ft) floodlights.

“This initiative will open up new opportunities for students across Kildare and beyond to pursue careers in healthcare."
