Former Kildare garden centre could be turned into housing

The former Guilfoyles Garden Centre in Kildare Town
A former garden centre in Kildare town would be turned into housing under an interesting new plan.
Straffan’s Glengolden Builders are seeking planning permission for the demolition of an existing house and garage at the former Guilfoyles Garden Centre, Grey Abbey Road, Kildare Town and the construction of twenty homes in its place.
The homes would comprise two two-storey terrace blocks of housing containing five three-bedroom dwellings in each block; one two-storey terrace block of housing containing four three-bedroom dwellings; and a two-storey detached building containing six two-bedroom own-door apartments.
The application includes parking bays, communal open spaces and associated works.
The application is due to be decided by Kildare County Council on 16 April.
