Kildare man recieves DCU alumni award

VICE president of Client Computing Group (CCG), Intel Corporation, Michael Langan was a recipient of the 2024 DCU Alumni Award, along with seven others from across Ireland.
The DCU Alumni Awards honour alumni who, through their exceptional ability and leadership, have achieved excellence in their chosen fields of endeavour.
Michael’s career in engineering started in the early 2000’s, where he has had a massive impact on the industry since. He joined Intel in 2011 as a SoC Engineering Manager, where he later set up the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) Intellectual Property team, which he continues to manage.
His work with the NPU team has seen major advances in AI, specifically work in accelerating AI workloads.
The recipients represent all five faculties of study at DCU, including business, humanities and social sciences, education, science and health, and engineering and computing.
Michael’s exceptional achievement was celebrated at a special ceremony in The Helix on DCU’s Glasnevin campus.
DCU President Prof Dáire Keogh told the awardees on the day:
“You may come from diverse fields and backgrounds but what you have in common are some key traits. You are leaders, doers, innovators and change-makers.”
