Kildare’s most popular baby names revealed
Names Jack and Grace take the lead in Kildare for baby names in 2023
The CSO revealed that Jack and Grace were the most popular names chosen for Kildare babies born last Christmas.
On Christmas day in 2023, 75 babies were born, with 38 boys and 37 girls.
Nationally, the most popular names chosen for baby girls in December 2023 was Holly (30) and Éabha (30) in joint first place, followed by Sadie (28) with Sophie and Grace (both 27) in joint fourth. Holly seems to be a fan favourite as it has been the most popular name for baby girls born in December for the last 10 years, proudly chosen by festive parents.
When it comes to the most popular names chosen for boys born throughout December 2023, Jack (53) was the most popular name, in line with all-year round trends, followed by Noah (46); Liam (33); Cillian (31); with Theo and Rían (both 28) jointly in fifth position. In December 2022, four of the five names chosen for boys had a biblical influence, with only Noah making that connection in December 2023.
