Tributes paid to well-known Kildare mechanic

The late George Frayne

Tributes have been paid to a well-known Kildare garage owner who passed away last week.

George Frayne ran Frayne Brother’s on the Kilcullen Road, Naas for many years before its closure in recent years.

George of Kilcullen Road, and formerly of Tashinny, Longford passed away peacefully at home on Thursday.

He is survived by wife Breda, brother Michael, twin brother Roland and extended family.

George was known by his customers on Kilcullen Road as a gentleman who happily shared his vast knowledge about motors and offered advice on maintenance.

One mourner on RIP.ie said: “Always a pleasure to deal with and a brilliant mind for all things mechanical, particularly older vehicles.”

A neighbour of George added:. “His gentleman's response to a broken-down car problem was always' 'Sure let's have a look at it'. It never failed.”

George will repose at his home on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Removal to St Brigid’s Church on Wednesday arriving at 10am for funeral mass. Burial afterwards in Moydow Cemetery.
