IT HAS been found that Kildare first time buyers need to have a salary of over €80,000 in order to buy a home in the county.

Property website Daft.ie published its latest House Price Report, which reveals the average costs of houses in different areas of Ireland.

The Irish Mirror recently reported on this, detailing the required salary one must have to meet costs.

The figures are based on the new maximum mortgage level for a first time buyer, which “is now capped at 4 times your gross annual salary.” On top of that a 10% deposit is required of first time buyers.

With all that in mind, it was found that on average a salary of €82,690 would be needed in order to afford a house in Kildare.

This figure is based off the average listing price for a property in Kildare, which stands at €367,51.

Further, an average deposit of €36,751 would also be needed for first time buyers.
