Kildare Rescue Tails: great support for charity

THANK you to all who supported us recently at our Christmas Craft Fair held in Newbridge Town Hall recently and our music event held at Whitewater Shopping Centre.

It’s the time of year when our fundraising is at its busiest, but it is also thankfully the time of year when we get marvellous unexpected donations of supplies and funds.

The KWWSPCA has always been fantastically supported in the locality which allows us to carry out our very valuable work in the community.

This year we again have homed hundreds of dogs and cats and have also prevented hundreds, if not thousands, of unwanted litters of kittens through our neutering program.

Our veterinary bills are immense but so too are our results. It is the policy of the KWWSPCA to cease adoptions of dogs and cats throughout the Christmas period as we don’t see the animals as being suitable Christmas Gifts.

We have just completed the last few for 2025 and any remaining animals in our care will be placed in suitable foster homes.

Our shelter will shut down for a period over Christmas to give our hard-working volunteers a much-needed rest but of course we will always have an emergency plan in operation. It is simply not possible to put a halt on all activity.

This year we have our very own KWWSPCA 2026 Doggy Calendars for sale at €10 each.

They can be purchased in Noah's Ark, the KWWSPCA Charity Shop in Newbridge, and in Cottage Veterinary Clinic in Newbridge, who are officially partnered as the main sponsors of the calendars.

They can also be purchased in Nolan's Butchers, Kilcullen and Berney's Pharmacy, Kilcullen.
